Hi Gents,

Is there a chance Costa will leave us in the summer or even January?

Thanks.

I would be very surprised if it was January but I think a certainty at the end of the season and back to Atletico Madrid. Talk to their supporters and they believe he will be back although jittery about Griezmann staying!

No chance he leaves in January as most of the people were linked with to replace him are cuptied. I still don't feel that Greizzman is a striker and it would be tough to bring in someone at costas level which it would take to sell him.

Seeing as results and league position is ever so slightly below par
Do you think chelsea will or would spend over odds to get there men in January ie Torres type bid for stones or attacking player thanks eds.

{Ed018's Note - no I would highly doubt that}

I prefer Chelsea spend big in the next summer transfer.

The manager and the scout team will have the whole season to evaluate player performance and triple of the time compare to the winter transfer window - it would be easier to persuade players and clubs.

We have been spending little and tried to balance our spend for so long already. Take a look at our rivals: except Arsenal ( they never spend big and always get to 4th spot in the table) MC - MU - Liverpool keep spending big.

Lets be the boss of the transfer window again. Buy all the players we need - or more than we need for depth.

No surprise with the latest reports of United going in big for Stones. Ed002 has said that it would not be surprising if they go back to him. How we can sit back and let them take a player as good as him under our noses again like they did with Shaw, is beyond me.

'Money talks' is an expression which comes to mind, it has to be time to act and call Evertons' bluff in January by offering them a package they would be literally be insane to reject. We can not afford to miss out on a player we need so much to United again. A long term investment is worth it for once. Stones is a rolls royce of a player and one who we must fight United tooth and nail for.

Incredibly frustrating that United are going after Stones like they did with Shaw. We seem to have very "similar" targets, who invariably, they end up getting by overpaying considerably. We must match them this time for a player as good as Stones. He will be worth it.

Stones is a northern lad and may well prefer to stay in the north of England, utd will offer the same money as Chelsea no matter what you offer him and look more likely to be able to offer him champions league football next season.
Apart from relocate and win the champions league there looks little Chelsea can do to prevent utd getting him.

Due to the new TV deal he will (like all English players) be stupidly overpriced- would much rather we looked at someone like St. Juste or Varane or Marquinhos rather than let Martinez bleed us dry. Or better yet, recall Christensen who people are saying is the best CB in Germany!

Not buying shaw is looking silly now! Not wanting to pay the reported 30 million so signing Luis for 15 milion, selling him, and then buying Rahmann for 20 million. Woulda made more sense to just buy Shaw

But I have no clue on all the details, so I'll trust the club :)

The shaw debacle is the absolute only time I've questioned the club and will say I told you so. I remember bleating on this page constantly saying we had to get him for the reasons we've since found out. That said can't cry over spilled milk.

Maybe the club made a mistake in not getting Shaw, but so far he hasn't proven anything at United. He's been injured more often than he's been fit. Though he did look good the first few games of this season.

Hello Ed

Was wondering if January could see changes to our loan roster in terms of players being sent out for the rest of the season or others being recalled?

Much appreciated as always.

{Ed002's Note - Chelsea are unusual in that they always include a break point in the loans. January will indeed see a couple or so to return and then to go elsewhere.}
