Mikel is so negative it's unreal he's just not good enough for Chelsea. Twice he's given the ball away in stupid positions in which we were lucky not to be behind. Ivanovic is getting caught out at right back for attacking too much when he's not even getting any decent crosses in Azpilicueta deserves to be there with Cole at left back. All these gifted attacking midfielders we've got and we look more threatening from corners. This team's rubbish and were making a meal out of it. SORT IT OUT!!

Against such awful opposition I don't understand at home 2 in the pivot.

If Mourinho swallow his pride and goes with benitez's idea and plays Luiz alongside rami CM and buy a new striker like Falcao/Suarez/Martinez we'd have a quality side.

I agree - Luiz can turn out to be one of the best in CM. He has got everything for that role and his concentration lapses aren't as important when happening in the centre of the park.

Mourinho has already said in a interview that luiz in midfield isn't an option so we need to forget that now. Chelsea in the summer will most likely buy someone that can play that role and also buy a striker.

Luiz is not a cm. his passing is very pretty, but there are two problem his passing is sloppy and he is lazy. Barca come and get him we can buy matic.
I agree with above mikel is one dimensional he is awful and negative. Also Ivan has a masive heart and energy but his positional sense is terrible.
Last night too negative never seen so many sideways and backward passes in one game.

Was in the game yesterday and feel I got robed. Mikel is so awful that everytime he touches the ball everyone knows in the crowd that he will make a mistake. Nobody wants him in our team

Why don't jose use shurrle as a striker, and buy zouma and matic, shurrle is strong, fast, and a great dribble, and have a nice shot on him, we will only spend money on a top striker in the summer transfer window and not jan the clubs will keep us for ransom if we go for one

Hello ED002 I was wondering if and when you have time if you could please give a brief summary of targets and possible exits for the Winter transfer window and maybe even your opinion on whether we are likely to buy or not.

Will be my last post until after Christmas has I am going away so to ed and fellow Chelsea fans have a good one and best wishes and all that.

Who would the 'right players' be?

Young British Players or Players in area's of need.

Shaw, Varane, Mangala, Barkley, Imbula, Pogba, Deulofue, Martinez, Falcao

That would be my guess.

Shaw, Zouma, Varane, Fernando, Matic, Gundogan, Barkley, Jackson Martinez, Lukaku back would me my choices.

Still think Luiz needs his chance In CDM.

Shaw, Barkley, Matic, Richards, Varane, Townsend & Walker. Not to mention Suarez.

Being the saintly person that I am, I would like to save you the grief of anticipating signing Shaw.
If you read the latest comment from the Saints manager to ssn he explains VERY clearly that Shaw is NOT for sale and that he still uses an interpreter to make certain his comments are not misunderstood on such subjects.
Just because there are some sports journalists who are Chelsea supporters and want to keep such stories going it will not make any difference. 80% target for home grown players at Saints-do you really think the club will undermine this ambition at the first hurdle? Perhaps you should consider who would gain from Shaw joining Chelsea-whilst it is ONLY Chelsea, it will NOT happen. Not for £5m, £20m or £30m. What did Bale go for? When you start talking those sort of figures we might start to worry.
I am 2-0 up on what will happen in the transfer windows re Shaw, but I am 100% confident it will be 3-0 by the end of January. Keep giving me the "ball" and I will be pleased to stick it away!

When you were on here ranting about Shaw over the Summer, I actually expressively said, no doubt you'll come back here near January when rumours start (as long as he isn't injured or something) and will blather on about his not leaving. No one has said will will buy him, people are just saying they'd like us to.
Stop acting like some genius prophet, all of us know that any deals in January are unlikely. I think I said something about him leaving you in the summer . I wonder if you'll be so confident of his staying a few weeks before that window opens?

Well, Roweycfc, "people" have said you will buy him-so don't accuse me of ranting when you can't get your basic facts correct. Why do you think it is that both the player and the Saints manager have made their positions very clear in the last couple of weeks if this was not the case?

IF Shaw finally leaves Saints (which summer?) it will NOT be to Chelsea whilst there is any vestige of competition with Cole (is he suddenly going to retire after Brazil?) That would be a toxic situation for Luke and he is intelligent enough to appreciate that.

Perhaps it might be worthwhile to consider-would it not be better to invest the £30m, or more, in finding a solution to taking your own under 18s and 21s into your first team squad? Your lads compete well enough at that level with our lads but then seem to disappear. One has recently joined our Academy and suddenly looks a real prospect, so something is missing-perhaps its hope?

Anyway, do enjoy Christmas-because 2014 is going to start badly for you!
