Rite any real Chelsea fan will love lampard like me but all these people that are saying he should get a new deal are wrong and I also dislike rafa And that's a gud word for him (dislike ) but think he's trying to prove a point big games lampard plays and we can all see he's not what he was though rafa Is not saying it he's proving it that the older players are just not gud enough still rafa has to go and why the hell hazard didn't start I do not no

One word for us. PRIDE.

One word for Rio. TOSSER

So happy to feel positive about the side, Spurs slipping up, all in all not a bad day
Here's hoping for more of the same, and a top 4 finish.

Bluetrick {Ed018's Note - was nice to see the team come out and fight in the second half, we have been missing that for quite a while. Rio is garbage, should take a suspension for violent conduct}

Believable9 Unbelievable2

Spurs didn't 'slip-up' - they were beaten!

Puzzled

Agree11 Disagree1

Spurs won that game for Liverpool. Awful back pass and a penalty.

Agree1 Disagree5

Na they were the better team, spurs did slip up they deserved to win and should have won.

Agree1 Disagree6

To the poster who says Spurs won the game for Lpool etc etc
The majority of goals YOU score will come from opponent's mistakes - does
that mean you've not won the game

Puzzled

Agree4 Disagree2

11 Mar 2013 08:57:49
if spurs deserved at anfield. liverpool ripped you at white hart lane. and you won.
fair enough.
whatever happens. spurs won't make CL. too many tough fixtures.
simple. with bale going next summer. you are dead and burried.

Agree4 Disagree0

Of course you've still won the game Puzzled, but as the earlier poster pointed out, you won because the other team "slipped up". It's still a win, but not one through quality. You should have a great understanding of this concept mate.

Agree1 Disagree4

Melbourne - I can't dwell on that 'concept' as I'm still working on 'pivot'

Puzzled

Agree4 Disagree0

Haha quality response Puzzled

When are we going to play the replay Ed, any idea when IANCFC. {Ed018's Note - not yet}

10 Mar 2013 20:29:14
Rio on Torres - terry on Sanchez.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Difference is Rio jogged a few good yards and did it then had the cheek to pull him up and tell him to stop been soft, oh and didn't see a red card. Terry however. enough said. Scott M.

Wonderful second half just a pity De Gea got leg in way of Mata's shot. Would love to win FA Cup again, but top 4 in League remains priority. I still can't get excited by Europa Cup which I see as making achieving first two harder because of fixture congestion/Thursday games. VBS

I think playing on a really big pitch helps chelsea.

Believable5 Unbelievable0

I thought all Premier league pitches are the same size this year?
Maybe the Ed's could confirm? {Ed002's Note - They are where they can be be - but it is recognised that in plenty of cases it is not logistically possible.}

Looked like Hazard to me, kicked his ankles out from under him and had cheek to pull him up and tell him to stop playing. Dirty git and always has been! Scott M.

Saw it on tv a work, looked like Hazard to me. Funny you chelping like a prat, wonder how long youve been a 'fan'?Scott M. {Ed018's Note - it was Torres, no need to argue about it}

Agree0 Disagree5

No need for kiddie chelp either. Scott M {Ed018's Note - don't let this ruin your week, that's be a shame}

Chelping? Sure hope you haven't been chelping Welsh. Had to look that up on google and Urban Dictionary gives an extreme description.

At last a commited passionate performance. Wish we played united every week. They have sent our season down the hill last we met. Hopefully we'll kick off to a different effect after this game. No matter the score, we were sublime tonight.

JG

Believable5 Unbelievable0

Agree, after the match I saw just a little more team spirit with the hugging and congrats on the pitch maybe this draws the team closer and they start playing for one-another like last year's CL run.

Agree4 Disagree0

I though it was a slow and poor performance from us in the first half, could have bored the crap out of a coma patient. Picked up in second and should have won it. Why was there no mention or a replay of Rio been a dirty git? Had it been one of our players they would have been building the scaffold and tying the noose back stage, complete and utter joke, Man U can't do no wrong! Scott M.

Point proven that that although we love Lamps he should not be starting in central midfield in big games for us anymore. We can rotate any combination of Luiz, Ramires, Mikel and Romeu when he comes back and we will be tough to beat.

Believable6 Unbelievable0

Just like to say that what it is like playing with 11 men not with 10 when lamps is there midfield put him up striker not torres.

10 Mar 2013 18:32:56
Mata must hate de gea.
Remember his free kick last season? Brilliant today, best half of the season.
Hazard mata and Ramires brilliant, Heck they were all brilliant. And spurs lost!
Push on for the rest of the season, get champions league, get rid of rafa and next season will hopefully be ours!

Mikel was amazing. Him and Luiz for me in that role we would be solid and
Let Oscar may hazard do what they do {Ed018's Note - Ramires played well today as well. Way more dynamic than Mikel or Luiz}

Believable5 Unbelievable1

Ramires was awesome, but Mikel really has looked like a new player since he came back from the ACN. Definitely looking like he deserved the new contract.

Agree4 Disagree2

Yes. Urgency and Energy. It is amazing what happens when Mikel, Luiz and Ramires play well. We are unplayable. Proitos

Agree3 Disagree1

On yeah agree that Ramires legs and work rate brilliant I'm thinking to make us more solid. Concede less. Second half we were amazing. Looked like we were playing for our lives. Second ball fighting for it. Oh and rio is a coward and I was praying more than ever Torres scored at end

Agree2 Disagree0

Oh and although staring line up wasnt good. Rafa got subs right Nd and right time

Agree3 Disagree0

Ive been mikels biggest hater trust me, but today he made some important tackles, but he still had some sloppy passes and a few missed tackles.

Agree5 Disagree2

Though luiz was fantastic

Agree4 Disagree0

Mikel came on and made us play better cutting out mu play

Agree4 Disagree1

Mikel can't play those defence splitting passes but what he can do is break up play well, since acn he's begun to look forward when he breaks play up and gets it to the 3 AMs rather than passing back to the defence.

If this chelsea was given to rafa on day one. title would have been ours.

excelelnt second half. power packed performance.
and that's chelsea t its best.

UTD scrumbling.

Its not world class manager. nor world class stars.

its sometimes. dedication. and commitment.

thats it.

never give up.

How would the title be ours?
We were 4 points of united when he came in.

Don't worry guys raffa to the rescue defensive midfielder on to chase the game fantastic

Believable3 Unbelievable2

It's not just about putting on as many attacking players as we've got, it's about finding the balance to play with attacking intent but to also have the insurance of defensive cover against the counter attack.
You've obliviously never played the game at any level.
Go back to playing FIFA u numbskull.

The thing that just didn't let me ever back the fat waiter is that when his teams are loosing or not playing to standards or slow, he never tweaks in the formation or make a significant change. He only waits for his beloved 70mn and make like for like changes.

Show yourself your in control man your not just ruining Chelsea's reputation it's his managerial reputation as well. Doomed Rafa but hope this negativity ends when his contract is up.

david moyes would be my choice for the manager done an excellent job at efc he is a proven british prem manager the direction we need to go we have had to many foreign managers time to give a brit a go now and give him stability and let him get the club organised his way you need to get moyes in asap abramovich and get this person benitez out.

Agree0 Disagree1

Ed 0018 ye of little faith {Ed018's Note - easy to say that now huh. I said that at halftime when we looked awful in the first half. They fought back well in the second half and I can only hope we see that same intensity for the rest of the season}

10 Mar 2013 17:19:25
Bar the two goals we have dominated the game.
How are they so far ahead of us?
Two reasons.
1)manager, obviously
2) their strikers. They don't send their best one on loan.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

Was Lukaku your best striker when you sent him out on loan like?

Muppet, he had no chance with the second, at fault for 1st but just kept us in the game with that double save.

No hazard today. Rafa doesn't like playing with two wingers.
It's either hazard or moses but not both.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Hazard isn't really a winger in my opinion. He wants to play the Mata role behind Ba. Moses and maybe Marin are the only 2 people I think give is genuine width. Benitez has been quoted as saying he doesn't like playing Oscar, Mata and Hazard together because they're too similar.

predictions for the game today?
must admit i fear the worst today, with everything that has gone on this season, and with our recent poor performances!

after the nani red card, have a feeling mr webb will send off a chelsea player today!

thanks fella's, all the best to the boys today.

If we are going to go out today, I'd rather go out fighting. My team for today would be:

Cech
Ivan Cahill Terry Cole
Luiz Mikel
Moses Mata Hazard
Ba

I left Lamps out because I haven't been impressed with him at all recently and I left Oscar out because I think we need some genuine width, someone to get at Evra because I honestly don't think he's all that. Plus, Oscar, as we've seen, can reinvigorate us later on if/when we need it. Ivan over Azpi because we could use his physical presence at set pieces and I think he shows up when it matters. If Torres gets on the pitch for any other reason than all out subs come down with the plague then I'll concede the tie there and then - bloke's about as deadly as an inflatable sword.

Your thoughts/teams?

LJ.

Believable3 Unbelievable4

Oscar for Mikel.

Agree2 Disagree3

I agree with the starting line up only put azpil in instead of bran. Bran always get cought out positon

Agree3 Disagree1

Branislav Ivanovic should not play right back for us EVER gain! how many times does it take people to realise that he is an incapable footballer especially with the ball at his feet! he should only ever play centre back which is 1) where he prefers to play and 2) in my opinion where he is best!

Just wondering what people think of thorgan hazard?
Seems to be doing well in Belgium and only 19 years old.
Potential first team player, squad player or do you reckon he'll be sold?

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Hes got what eden had. I don't judge players untill they've had a couple of years after they are physically built & ready so by the age of 20 - 22. we shall see. but i'm a firm believer of if they get gelled in at these ages they will fit the first team. BLUEBOY1
