Glad we didn't sign Craig Gordan judging by his performance in goal today. Who would you like to see as the back up keeper? I personally wouldn't mind Victor Valdes as he's a free agent after leaving boro. He's got the experience, decent shot stopper and would be a solid number two. Opinions?

Been reading some posts on here recently regarding the transfer of players into our club and one or two seem very anxious to say the least so I thought I would clarify the situation. The Summer transfer window does not open until 1st JULY so no matter who clubs are linked with, what deals are done, what sponsor is on the shirt, who manufactures the shirt etc etc nothing can officially happen until then. Chill out boys and girls and enjoy your Summer, we are the premier league champions and Don Conte, Mr Emenalo, Maria and of course, Mr A, know who the targets are and will try to deliver. Cheers.

ed how did rangers new manager turn up at ibrox with 3 new players, who are all doing preseason training ahead of europa qualifiers in 2/ 3weeks time?, i thought the english window is open, the new players will arrive for preseason in july.
{Ed001's Note - I am not sure how that is relevant? How many official competitive games have they played in? That is the only thing they are prevented from doing prior to the registration being transferred.}

im not trying to be funny ed, i just don't understand this window that's all, it opened on the 9th of june to sign players, is it a later date to register them?, i only ask about rangers because they have a euro qualifier before july they have already signed players, are all ready back in training, and the manager has said the new players will play in the qualifiers on the 29th of june?, does that not mean the window is open as normal its just most clubs are still not back for preseason yet?
{Ed001's Note - sorry Cat, I did not read the original post, I was just responding to how Man City were able to sign players prior to Friday. I never realised someone was saying it opens in July, it doesn't, it opened on Friday in England. Apologies for the confusion, before Friday they could announce them, train with the club etc everything but play in competitive matches. From Friday onwards, in England anyway as there are different dates for different countries, the players can be registered and play in competitive matches.
There are different deadlines for registering a player to play in the different qualifying rounds in Europe as well.
Yes, the window is now open but most clubs are still on holiday.}

thanks ed,1 more question to clear up for us chelsea fans if you have time, we are changing sponsors from adidas to nike, the change will happen on the 1st of july, will chelsea not sign or unveil players until that date so they can be paraded in nike, or will they come as and when deals go through, cheers again ed!

It seems Lukaku is coming back. But if we are paying more than 75m which is mentioned in media, and if man utd are signing Morata for 60m then its not a really good deal for us.
Lukaku is better striker compared to Morata. However Morata is better all round player than Lukaku.
But whoever we sign i expect all of us to get behind him.

I keep saying the money side of thinga makes no difference to us its down to look most of the time . Arsenal brought xhaka he didn't do well because we got kante and he done so well pogba and xhaka got slated . prices should mean nothing to fans we don't pay the money nor should we care how much someone costs the clubs.

Homegrown players have a higher price. Lukaku scored 25 goals in PL and Morata scored 16 in all competitions. Kane wouldn't cost less than 100million£.

Everyone bar someone at chelsea agrees lukaku won't suit our team morata would far more affective linking up with hazard an co i think lukaku is an absoloute donkey but if we sign him il support him an hope he makes me eat my words but never rated him he never does amything in d big games and as d pundits say games he doesn't score unlike other strikers who still influence a game he does absoloutely nothing in games he doesn't score because he's to lazy.

I have posted several times about Lukaku. I am not a fan and I would prefer Morata. Some fans say we should forget/ set aside the fees involved. If that's the case, why not press for Kane.

mate it looks like lukaku is pretty nailed on, most of us are split down the middle on him, i've tried my best to almost convince myself he will be good for us, i watched him last night and i thought he won't suit us again, he was static didn't run much, i do think morata all round game suits our style better, think of hazard and costa 1-2 link up play in and around the box, lukaku won't do that, morata would, i hope lukaku improves and becomes a great for us, i heard a joke today saying we want to put kante and bakayoko in midfield to win the ball back after lukaku's first touch.

I've only seen Bakayoko twice and that was on TV.
I'm not a massive fan but everyone else seems to rave about him and the club must rate him!
