Use our rumours form to send us chelsea transfer rumours.

Poor performance. Too much side to side passing. The clear chances that were created were all headers and unfortunately "Christensen" wasn't up to scratch with his headers. Maybe if they fell to Rudiger who was probably our best player then we would have scored both. Rudiger is turning out to be a class acquisition for us.

We could do with Ross Barkley now. Its not a surprise that we need goals from our midfield. Goals from our midfield is non-existant, Kante, Bakayoko, Drinkwater and Fabregas never get you goals consistently.

Its predictable, our goals come from Alonso, Hazard or from the head of Morota.

Good old days of plenty of goals from Terry (from defence), Lampard (from midfield) .

We miss Terry's corner threat but also his marshaling of the defence, currently there is nobody doing that job and we can leave sizeable holes. Lampard had the ability to shoot from range and whether he scored or not he drew defences out, today we have players with superb shots who rarely use it. It is quite clear even to the harden supporter that our recent performances are leaving a lot to be desired and I think our frustration is starting to show with the players.

Another mediocre attacking performance, getting frustrating now, when Willian and bats come on we were still crossing the ball? Home advantage and a weak arsenal team, not a good result.

were already relying heavily now on barkley to create something from midfield after 2 very poor flat cup performance were was hazard tonight. very quiet and looked uninterested.

10 Jan 2018 22:17:26
I feel Hazard is struggling in that formation. The midfield are too far away and do not help enough. His marked tightly. If we had long range shooters then maybe it would have drawn out players and given the front guys some space.

Add Barkley and Musonda to the mix would help a lot imo more pace trickery and direct players.

21 shots tonight, twenty one. Barkley in my mind will slot into the team. Pace power and goal threat from distance, we are / have been for last month now been boring to watch I’m affraid to say, and the few times we’ve not been boring we’ve been wasteful, maybe conte needs to change change things up.,

Agree1 Disagree0

11 Jan 2018 09:16:08
Boring to watch, Matt?

Granted, the cup games were awful but did you choose to disregard the Stoke game, or the Arsenal game last week?

Arsenal played a Jose last night and parked the bus. Extremely hard to break down.

Everyone could see that Chelsea deserved to win that match last night, all the pundits are saying the same.

I agree that we need to start shooting from distance, we're getting like Arsenal of old where we're trying to walk the ball in!

I don't think Chelsea were poor last night but the game as a whole was a non-event.

11 Jan 2018 09:52:53
Yeah boring. We’re beconing predictable in our play and like I said when we haven’t been boring we’ve been wasteful like b arsenal and the stoke game. they were missing there hole back 4 and are in a mess, when hazards fit we play him behind and when we don’t play hazard when rested we have willian n Pedro so it’s either 352 or 343 with same two like ups., all but yo predictable at the moment,

There are no teams out there, even City, that have drastic changes to their formation. None.

What other teams do have, is a pace to their play.

The only exciting teams to watch in the league at the minute are City and Liverpool, and we're ahead of one of those teams and the others are just freaks.

What do you expect Conte to do about teams playing 5 at the back against us? I'm convinced we have the personnel in the squad to produce, hard to do this when teams stifle us and sit on the 6 yard line, and Arsenal set up last night, not to concede.

Not angled at you Matt but this site, is starting to become a pit of despair. I can understand why people have stopped posting.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jan 2018 13:57:28
Told you so
And dinanio if arsenal parked the bus why do we insist on 3 centre hacks bet 2 strikers on and get crossed in
We were in some great crossing situations over last few games
To turn and pass back because there is no-one in the box.

11 Jan 2018 15:51:05
I’m not looking at drastic changes but maybe bats up with morata or dropping a defender when teams pinned back, think it’s limited midfield, hopefully Barkley helps with this and attacking additions in Jan.

Christensen only had to hit the target.

I have been really impressed with Rudiger. composer, pace and passing. def should get the knod over Cahill. in my eyes.

10 Jan 2018 21:33:02
Our old problem, no penetration at all. All that close quarter passing gets us nowhere and we are repeating it game after game. This should be an easy game for us.

10 Jan 2018 21:53:25
lacking creativity and morata is bang out of form. where was hazard tonight forgot he was even playing at some stages.

10 Jan 2018 20:49:59
any body elsw feel 40 mill or what ever it was for drinkwater sums up the transfer market not having a dig at him but he's not going to offer us much i don't feel he's like a slower version of kante i hope bakrley brings something to our midfield which lacks creativity and pace against teams we can't break down.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

10 Jan 2018 21:06:28
how. can anyone. slate Drinkwater. been decent everytime he has played. needs a run of games. agree 35 mill. was a lot but that's the stupid. market theses days mate. slate Fabregas . useless! offers nothing .

10 Jan 2018 21:08:37
all fab does is stroll around playing terrible short corners when we a unit in rud.

Agree1 Disagree1

10 Jan 2018 21:08:42
Think we’ve all been wanting him to start ahead of bakyoko for so long that we had him down for a better playmaker than he is lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Jan 2018 21:17:59
he was never a play. maker . an engine more like. works tirelessly.

Agree0 Disagree1

10 Jan 2018 21:54:44
oh not saying he's a bad player is he good enough for chelsea is my question of course he works hard but offers very little creativity and my question was really how many hard workers with no creativity do we need in our midfield.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Jan 2018 21:56:12
fabregas was terrible do i do agree his time should be up in our starting 11. were lacking serious quality in the midfield attacking areas and morata been bang out of form doesn't help.

Agree1 Disagree0

10 Jan 2018 22:14:16
I feel we are lacking that creative CM .
Kante Drinkwater/ bakayoko Barkley

prob the best.
need someone like a courtino, Silva or. de bruyne.

sorry but fab has had his day now. far to slow . no. desire . Doesn't get in the box #useless!

the back three tonight would bey starting line up 3.

10 Jan 2018 22:38:50
Lol i think Matt nailed it. Baka's performances and the frustration may have confused Drinkwaters ability to that of iniesta's lol. In my opinion he isn't a chelsea first 11, just a squad player.

liking the video ref. will take a few years to dust out but looking good so far. Doesn't take long at all. hopefully will. stop all this simulation.

Strong line up v a weakened one and with poor display v Norwich I'm hoping we put this tie out of reach first leg, drinkwater to score,

Believable0 Unbelievable0

10 Jan 2018 20:04:52
Not a bad line-up at all and pleased Drinkwater starts. Hopefully Morata is oozing confidence after his shaky run and gets himself a hat trick and put the tie beyond them.

Ed002, is there really absolutely nothing that will change your mind about updating us on Chelsea’s transfer plans? I think we are all desperate for something!

Also off topic, is it true that the cost of the new stadium has escalated so much that it’s actually put it in doubt that it will ever go ahead? I understand that there are more issues over sunlight etc to now deal with, due to the current neighbours filing a block on it being rebuilt.

Thanks in advance.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I have no interest in helping regarding transfers Ada, As for the stadium I am not aware of anything new but nothing will happen as far as the satdium itself goes before the summer of 2020. Until then they will deal with the railway tracks, contaimation clearance and a number of other issues. No new home has been found and it remains unclear, at least to me, if it will be a threey year lease of a four year lease.}

I might be pushing my luck here a bit, but worth a shot. Could you maybe shed some light on the coaching situation at Chelsea, Ed002? On the Pool page apparently you mentioned Conte perhaps being offered Mourinho's dream job for next season (or at least something like that) . Would that be PSG's head coaching job?
And if Conte were to leave after this season are there any particular coaches Chelsea would look to to replace him perhaps?

Don't want to bother you, Ed002, and I respect your decision not to provide info regarding transfers. But I hope you could maybe give us something on the coaching situation. I'd be forever grateful :)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Chelsea has a head coach.}

10 Jan 2018 21:19:26
Haha I know but apparently you hinted at that head coach getting Jose's dream job next season. And I don't suppose that dream job is at Chelsea :-P

But alright of if you don't want to discuss it.
