It certainly looks likely at least 1 if not even both of Salah and Schurrle will move on in January. Let's say Schurrle does leave to Wolsfburg for 30m €. Surely the club would buy a replacement immediately? and surely this replacement will be Cuadrado? I mean, he's the only top RW available (35m€) and is even CL eligible? Surely?

Really don't believe both would leave right now. I've got my doubts over even one of them leaving.
Your question is a good one though, as I don't know many players that would be adequate replacements for that right wing. And the ones I can think of, Chelsea has shown no interest in. I'd personally love for Traore to be given a shot next season if one of them were to leave.
Two words Jack, Marko Reus. Get him in there. Imagine a team of Matic, Fabregas, Pogba, Reus, Hazard and Costa. Queue evil laugh ( ha ha ha ha) We will destroy every one in our path.
I should've known someone would mention Reus :-P however, I still maintain my belief that he won't join us. It'll be Bayern or Madrid IMO.
Alternatives for me are Lucas Moura and Griezmann (though Griezmann is quite impossible to get since he only just moved). We've shown no interest in Moura I believe so that's a no go as well. Bale could obviously be a good addition but he'd cost an insane amount of money and we're probably not interested anyway. Depay is a star in the making but again we've shown no interest I think.
Koke perhaps if the club see him as a player who can perform further up the pitch.
Seeing how many names I've just mentioned, there are a decent amount of players who could get IMO.
However, I don't think the club has the same beliefs as I do so they won't leave I think :)

I agree Reus would be a great signing and I've said Bale on here a few times. Of the players on loan, Traore looks to be the one showing most promise but I think his loan is all season!

I know right mn. In a perfect world we would get them both to complete the team, in an almost perfect world we'll get both.
In reality on the other hand yeah not looking very plausible. Here is to hoping.

Horrible news, guys. Junior Malanda (Belgian player of Wolfsburg) died in a car accident. An utter tragedy, especially since he was so young.
Thoughts go out to his family and loved ones. May he rest in peace.

A great shame and something that puts everything into perspective.

Good win and a good day with City dropping points aswell! Will be interesting to see the extent of Azpi's injury, another injury/suspension for Ivan or Felipe will give Jose something to think about

Congrats to every poster on here for calling for Zouma. He looked really good and what a leap he has on him.
Definitely deserves a run beside Jt.
We might not have a degree in the game but we sure do live it enough to see some little tweaks.:)

Zouma was excellent, didn't mess around. Doesn't need to start every game for me, but I hope he can start a league game here and there.

He's certainly given Jose something to think about.
Zouma definitely showed he's more than capable of starting in the league. There were a few iffy moments in the first half but the whole team was poor to be fair. There was also a moment near the end with a challenge that was a bit clumsy and not really required. But overall he was great, playing alongside Terry gives us much needed pace and he can learn more about the tactical side from him. Also he seems assured on the ball from the few runs he made with the ball which is a plus.

Great win today. First half was poor, but big improvement in the second half. Hazard very good IMO, even without scoring or assisting. Great run of form for him.
Hopefully Azpi's injury isn't too serious though, wish him a quick recovery.
On a different note, just read that Tyrone Mings is 6 foot 5! That's very imposing, especially for a full back. Heard good things about him and I'm kind of hoping we can put a deal together for him and loan him till the end of the season. Luis isn't exactly young and we all know Jose likes a big, strong full back ala Ivanovic.
Bring on the next game. Onwards and upwards!
PS: please get Pogba (or the next Pogba, Souici or something haha).

It'd be good to get Mings because he's also English, we need more of those. And I like physical specimens. Just look at Zouma, his athletic ability is a joy to behold :)
Of course I agree with you, the real Pogba over any other midfielder any day of the week. Think I'd be smiling non-stop for about a week if we got him.

Glad zouma's starting over Cahill but I don't know why Courtois isnt. He's done nothing wrong. Personally I would of prefer to seen Ivanovic and Oscar dropped with Filipe Luis and Ramires coming in then move Cesc to no.10. Oscars starting to get really inconsistent and I don't like it.

Why it is 'so obvious' exactly? We know bids have been made and targets decided so I don't see any truth in your statement. The signings might be dealt with now and join in the summer but that is to be expected. Ridiculous statement barely one week into the January Window.
Chelsea will sign some new players in summer. Mourinho is happy with current squad. There is nothing ridiculous about it.
